The Clinical Program at IHR is available to serve all Livingston County residents with mental health issues or emotional difficulties.

The Clinical Program is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 9:00am to 8:00pm and Thursday and Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.

The Clinical Program has a variety of services ranging from individual, couples, family and group. The program meets with clients on an outpatient basis. We have nine therapists with a Master's degree, two crisis counselors, and four ISU interns.

Mental Health Counseling and Treatment:

  • Marital Difficulties
  • Family Conflicts
  • Child and adolescent behavior problems
  • School related problems
  • Personal problems
    • Anxiety
    • Depression
  • Juvenile Delinquency
  • Fears and Phobias
  • Post Divorce issues
  • Child abuse and Spousal abuse
  • Emergency Crisis Intervention
    • Facilitating Psychiatric Hospitals

 

Emergency Service:

  • A crisis worker on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week to assist in any type of mental health crisis
  • A majority of calls come from St. James Hospital and the Livingston County Jail
  • For Immediate Intervention call 844-6109 and a trained crisis counselor will be available for consultation.

 

Psychiatric Services:

  • IHR has two psychiatrists on staff
    • Dr. Damera
      • Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm
    • Dr. Fields
      • Tuesday 8:00am to 12:00pm

 

Domestic Violence Groups:

  • The Domestic Violence program follows a ten session model that addresses such issues as
    • The Cycle of Violence
    • Acceptance and Responsibility for behaviors
    • How Drugs and Alcohol impair control
    • The development of a non-violent cycle
  • All ten sessions must be formally attended prior to discharge

 

Parents United:

  • Sexual Abuse Program
    • Ongoing group conducted at IHR Two evenings a week.
      • Monday 6:00pm to 8:00pm
      • Tuesday 6:00pm to 8:00pm
    • Addresses the
      • Sexual improprieties of the clients
      •  Pathologies of the clients
      • Offences of the clients

 

SASS Services (Screening Assessment Support Services):

  • Formally asses children under the age of 18 for intensive therapy including but not limited to a psychiatric hospitalization

 

Parenting Classes:

  • Six session model
  • Addresses Adolescent issues
  • Addresses Teen Issues
  • Cost is $20.00
    • Refund available based on attendance
