Teen Services:

Teen services offered in the Substance Abuse Program include both an early intervention group and a teen group.

• Early Intervention Group
  • An informational group that meets twice
  • Group lasts for two and a half hours
  • Focuses primarily on education and prevention

   

• Teen Group
  • Meets once a week for eight weeks.
  • Group lasts for 90 minutes
  • Addresses a different topic each week.
  • The topics include.
    • Basic information about drugs and alcohol
    • Coping with pressures from friends
    • Dealing with family stressors
    • Handling emotional issues like depression and anger
  • Many teens involved in this group will also be recommended to meet with a counselor for individual sessions to supplement the group material.
